“Mentor” recycled wood, banksia and wire tree sculpture
This sculpture “Mentor” is an homage to Naomi Lewis, another artist at The Lazy Lizard Co-Op Gallery, who recently passed.
She was a mentor in person to Alan when he first joined the group of artists at The Lazy Lizard Gallery.
The banksia seed cone tucked in under the Fully Grown “Laputa” style floating tree sculpture represents being safely taken upwards to see the world.
Naomi’s lino cut work sometimes used the banksia as well.
A couple from Queensland that came through the Lazy Lizard in Cobargo purchased the “Mentor” sculpture and send sculptor Alan this picture of it in their home.
