‘Over The Hill – The Fire’ Metal Tree Recycled Glass Sculpture

After the devastation of the 2021 NY Eve fires in the South Coast of NSW/ Cobargo area, Alan had to begin again to create.
Much of his property was gone or ‘melted’.

This tree is a result of that time.
Alan’s client that purchased this sculpture recalls “the ghastly glow and flames roaring through the air in TrapYard Gully… that looked Apocalyptic” from her window, racing over the hill, engulfing all the trees, birds anything in it’s path that couldn’t crawl into a hole.

Alan was left with pieces of melted glass and twisted metal from that day – and he has incorporated some of this into this tree.
He calls it “Over The Hill… The Fire” and it now sits on that very window sill in her osteopathic treatment rooms.

Alan still lives and works as a sculptor on the South Coast of NSW Australia
