Drifter- recycled driftwood and wire tree sculpture

Drifter- recycled driftwood and wire tree sculpture

Alan’s latest work involved using a piece of driftwood he found in the Bermagui River, near his property, where he often goes out in his Kayak to enjoy the serene silence of the area.

Coincidentally, Alan also had an idea that the name “Bermagui “derived from an indigenous word that possibly meant “canoe with paddles”( close enough to a Kayak!)
Indeed, Wikipedia says  “the name of the river is derived from the Aboriginal Dyirringanj word, spelled variously as permageua[3] and bermaguee, meaning a canoe with paddles”

Alan said it was interesting to feed the wire “roots” through the driftwood on this 62 double strand wire sculpture.
